I am Imre, owner and chief player

I believe that life itself is built from games, playful learning and the experiences that come from them. As children, we learn to play, and this is almost one of the first things we need to master, because we learn many other things through play — naturally and easily.

I love board games because they develop the skills highlighted by their mechanisms: logical and strategic thinking, memory, visual skills or fine motor abilities.

I enjoy every game because, by learning the rules accurately and using the possibilities of the system cleverly, every player can influence the outcome. Board games can give a sense of success when we win, but they also teach us that the world does not fall apart if we do not finish first.

I am Kata, owner and fellow player

My childhood board game memories include Nine Men’s Morris, chess, Ludo, classic Hungarian family games, and long family afternoons with rummy cards.

Decades later, I still enjoy games that are easy to understand, quick and cheerful, especially if they work well for two players or for families with children. Jungle Speed, Café International, Cockroach Poker, Cartagena, Ticket to Ride or Portobello Market are always welcome.

My love for board games began in childhood. The highlight of family events was always a good board game session. We played traditional and well-known games such as Catan, The Game of Life, Cluedo, Ludo and Uno.

Apart from those occasions, I did not have many opportunities to discover newer board games earlier, but the SAS és KOS board game specialist store provides an excellent place and opportunity for that.

We love playing board games, and we also know them well. We know that many people enjoy playing, but choosing the right board game is often much easier with expert help.

We are simply board gamers with a long gaming history

Our game-loving, game-hunting and game-sharing selves found their true purpose in spending much of our free time discovering special board games, trying them, and introducing them to others. We bought games for everyday evenings and special occasions, played as a couple day after day, and with larger groups on weekends and holidays. Over time, occasions slowly started to form around board games: we visited, invited, met and carried games with us — just so we could play.

Over time, we recommended more games to others than others recommended to us

Gender, age, interests, visual style, number of players, playing time and mood — we can suggest something for many different needs. We ask questions, talk things through, show games, and whenever possible, even try them together. We rent board games, gather casual players and gamer enthusiasts, and help build a community around playing.
